The first step is a one-on-one call with one of our Personal Hearing Professionals, who will ask targeted questions to understand your hearing ability and lifestyle and to see if Eargo hearing aids are right for you. 

Once your Eargos arrive, you’ll have an Orientation Call during which one of our hearing professionals will walk you through everything you need to know about getting started.

Our patented Petal tips are intended to provide sound the way nature intended. Your Eargos come with two types of Petals:

• Closed Petals minimize sound leakage, provide a fuller, rounder sound, and help reduce feedback.
  
  
• Open Petals provide less occlusion than Closed Petals, and reduce the vibration of your own voice, improve sound quality, and help create a more natural listening experience. 

And finding the perfect fit for your ear canal is easy. Your Eargos will come with Petals in different sizes, so you can find the ones that are most comfortable for you—most people find medium to be the best fit size-wise.

6. Daily care is a cinch with the included tools.

We make it easy to properly care for your Eargo devices and charger. Wax, oil, and other debris can build up—and while that’s totally normal, it can affect their sound quality and performance, which is why we recommend cleaning your Eargos daily. Don’t worry—it doesn’t take much time and all Eargos come with an easy-to-use cleaning tool, BluTack, and 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes to keep everything in excellent shape. 

Let’s start with the cleaning tool, which has a wiper and a brush.

• Use the brush to clean the hearing devices, including the Mic Caps and the Petals. Then, use the included cloth to wipe the device.  

• Use the wiper to clean the charging device and remove wax and debris from the Sensor and Hearing Device Cradles. 

In addition, every few days, you should use the BluTack and isopropyl alcohol wipes for a deeper clean. This cleaning method comes from our research and engineering team and just takes a minute or two.

First, you’ll remove the Petal and Mic Cap. Then, use the 70% alcohol wipe to remove and break down earwax and debris. Next, take a small piece of BluTack putty (around the size of a postage stamp) and gently stick and peel it off of the Sound Outlet, up to 10 times. Do the same thing with the Sound Inlet. Finally, use the alcohol wipe on the entire device once again.

Even if your devices appear spotless, we recommend using the cleaning tool everyday because not all wax, oil, and debris accumulation is visible, and a daily routine will prevent any build-up. 

7. A state-of-the-art mobile app unlocks their full potential.

The Eargo app puts hearing control in the palm of your hand.

The app home screen gives you access to three main fine-tuning controls: Volume, Noise Filter, and Programs. These function similarly to the remote control for your TV and allow you to personalize your Eargo devices without removing them from your ears so you can make discreet, on-the-go adjustments.

How does it work? It’s a smart technology that works a little like magic. Our app uses ultra-high frequency commands that your Eargo devices “hear,” allowing you to make desired changes. You (and anyone around you) won’t be able to hear them—but don’t be surprised if your pup’s ears perk up.
